| Tampa Bay 56ers Spring Picnic 2009 |
The Tampa Bay 56ers had their annual
spring picnic at Phillippe Park on Mar.
15. Also attending were many
members of the Orange Blossom Club.
The main course was a barbequed pig
provided by M-N-M BBQ. There were
over 60 members and friends
attending. Prior to eating many
members took advantage of the
bargains during the swap and sell. We
followed that with games of Bingo. VP
Marlyn King acted as the caller. Then it
was on to the food. The array of
deserts that people brought was
enough to feed everyone in the park.
Then it was time for Sharon Rhodes to
lead the cake walk. After the lucky
winners had chosen their favorite cake
everyone headed to the virtual midway
of games. There were many new and
challenging games this year thanks to
Denis Gillen. We all counted our
tickets and President Vern
Schwieterman pulled the numbers for
the prizes.
The afternoon was winding down, but
everyone agreed it was another great
picnic.
